Fielder’s Choice Enterprises Acquires DLB

Fielder’s Choice Enterprises, Inc. (FCE) is excited to announce the recent acquisition of DLB Enterprises LLC in Hillsville, VA.  DLB Enterprises joins FCE and Wagner Construction Enterprises as part of The Caton Companies’ group of Heavy/Highway, Bridge, Excavation, Utility and Site Development contractors.  DLB Enterprises (formally DLB, Inc.) has long been an industry leader in the heavy highway sector in Southwest Virginia and in North Carolina, and The Caton Companies are excited to grow its geographic reach, skill set, equipment fleet, and leadership team.

Following this acquisition, The Caton Companies are pleased to announce the promotion of Donald Cantore, who will serve as CEO of FCE and DLB Enterprises.  He will continue to serve as President of Wagner Construction.  He will oversee The Caton Companies’ heavy highway construction portfolio along with each firm’s executive leadership team.

Matt Holcomb, PE, who served as Vice President of Operations for FCE since 2014, has been elevated to the role of President of FCE. He will also hold the positions of Executive Vice President of DLB and Wagner Construction Enterprises.

Donald Branscome, founder of DLB, Inc., will serve as President of DLB, where his decades of experience will be supplemented by a leadership team including:  Jeremy Hendrick, Vice President of Operations, and Dicky Morgan, Vice President – Estimating.

Mark Wagner will continue to serve as Vice President of Wagner Construction.

With the addition of DLB Enterprises, The Caton Companies is now in a position to pursue large value, design-bid and design-build VDOT, NCDOT, Federal and Municipal projects.  The Caton Companies’ construction companies currently employ over 250 skilled construction professionals and workers.  The replacement value of its equipment is in excess of $25 million.  Presently its contract backlog is in excess of $50 million and it is on track to achieve an annual volume of $75 million by the end of 2018.
