Diana Mendes, AICP, has been appointed president of HNTB’s newly created Mid-Atlantic Division, which includes offices in Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. In this role, Diana will set the division’s strategic direction, develop growth strategies, manage professional development and recruiting and oversee the region’s operations. Diana maintains her role as national transit/rail market sector leader. Diana is an accomplished professional and proven practice builder with more than 30 years of experience. She has been appointed to several professional association boards and committee leadership positions including the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the American Public Transportation Association, the American Planning Association and the non-profit RailVolution. She was on the advisory board and served as a contributing author for the “go-to” professional reference book “Planning and Urban Design Standards” published by the APA and John Wiley & Sons.
