Event Details

VTCA, Virginia Department of Education and Department of Labor & Industry are pleased to announce that on April 19, 2023, we will be conducting our second Work-Based Learning meeting for our members in the Greater Richmond area.

Many of the public-school systems in Virginia conduct High-Quality Work-Based Learning programs. These programs offer high school students’ opportunities to combine on-the-job training with their high school curriculum. High-Quality Work-Based Learning (HQWBL) comprises experiences related to students’ career interests based on instructional preparation and take place in partnership with local businesses or organizations. HQWBL enables students to apply classroom instruction in a real-world work environment.

The VTCA Workforce Development Taskforce will be hosting this meeting at Luck Stone Corporate Office Learning Center, 515 Stone Mill Drive, Manakin-Sabot, VA 23103.

This event serves to connect VTCA Members with the representatives from the Greater Richmond region’s HQWBL programs. The High-Quality Work-Based Learning representatives will provide testimonials to the success of the program and how your firms can become involved in High-Quality Work-Based Learning.

This will be a unique opportunity for your firm to learn how you can become involved in High-Quality Work-Based Learning programs, exposing young individuals to your organizations and provide training opportunities for students.

Read more detailed information on the High-Quality Work-Based Learning Program.

Lunch will be provided.  Space is limited so register today!
