The VTCA - VDOT Cost Estimation Summit is a unique annual opportunity to gain the most up to date information on transportation infrastructure cost estimating here in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This event brings together industry leaders in the field of estimating for two days of learning, networking, and having fun. The 2026 Summit includes sessions that address many of the challenges faced by the transportation estimating community. We also have two new and exciting opportunities this year: Construction Project Site Visit (geared to those with less field experience) and a Cost Estimating Competition including prizes.
Sessions will include:
-
Probabilistic Risk Based Estimating (PRBE) & Cost Schedule Risk Analysis (CSRA)
- Virginia’s Infrastructure Market Conditions from the Balmoral Group
- SMART SCALE Round 7 Preview from OIPI
- State DOT Estimator Panel
- Environmental Cost Estimation Tools and Environmental Considerations
- Update on VDOT Parametric Estimating Resources
- Detailed Bottoms Up Estimating
- Project Estimating Case Study
- ROW/Utility Estimate Tool (CEWB) & Common Project ROW Issues
The event is open to all. Anyone involved in preparing transportation project cost estimates, or reviewing estimates and budgets, will benefit by participating in this event. Engineering consultants, Virginia localities, state and federal government agency staff, and construction contractors will all gain valuable insight and benefit from this unique learning and networking opportunity. Attendees will be able to earn up to 10 PDHs (Inclusive of the I-81 Site Visit).
