Cedar Mountain Stone Miners Recognized with Individual Safety Awards
On January 14 and 15, VTCA and the Virginia Energy – Mineral Mining program presented individual miners with Cedar Mountain Stone with Individual Safety Awards.
The Individual Safety Awards is a VTCA and Virginia Energy – Mineral Mining program that recognize miners for achieving years of service milestones without a lost time accident. The 2025 awards are recognizing miners for working safely without a lost time injury for 15, 20, 25, 30, 35+, 40+ and 45+ years. These miners have worked a cumulative total of almost 3,400 years without a lost time injury!
The most recent presentations were to miners with Cedar Mountain Stone. Those honored with this impressive achievement are:
Dave Fincham - 25 years without a lost time injury
Thomas White - 20 years without a lost time injury
Roy Blankenbaker - 20 years without a lost time injury
John Moorman - 15 years without a lost time injury
VTCA presented these awards at Ceder Mountain’s Annual Refresher training. Affiliated company, Chemung Contracting also recognized two long time employees for their continued pledge to safety – Juan McIntosh and Sheryl Douglas. These miners were nominated by their supervisors for the prestigious award.
Congratulations and job [safely] done to these miners and road workers. Let’s hope their coworkers recognize these marvelous achievements and we can recognize them in the future.
