Eddie Gupton of Rogers Group Named President of the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance

Longtime Industry Leader to Guide VTCA into Its Historic 100th Anniversary

The Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA) is proud to announce that Eddie Gupton of Rogers Group Inc. has been installed as the organization's President for the 2026–2027 term. Gupton assumed the role during VTCA's Annual Business Meeting, held June 17–21, 2026, at the Omni Homestead Resort, beginning a leadership term that will culminate in one of the most significant milestones in the Alliance's history: VTCA's 100th anniversary. 

As President, Gupton will guide VTCA through a landmark year celebrating a century of advocacy, collaboration, and leadership on behalf of Virginia's transportation construction industry. Since its founding in 1927, VTCA has served as the unified voice for contractors, aggregate producers, engineers, suppliers, and industry partners working to build and maintain the Commonwealth's transportation infrastructure. 
Gupton serves as Virginia Sales Manager for Rogers Group Inc., headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.

Founded in 1908, Rogers Group is the nation's largest privately held aggregates producer, employing more than 3,500 people across 87 quarries and 56 asphalt plants in 13 states stretching from Virginia to Texas. Prior to Rogers Group's acquisition of Rockydale Quarries on May 15 of this year, Gupton held a variety of leadership roles with the company, including Sales Representative, Regional Sales Manager, and Director of Sales & Business Development. 

Gupton brings decades of industry experience and a long history of service to VTCA. He previously served as the organization's Vice President and chaired both the Aggregate Producers Leadership Committee and the Aggregates Marketing Committee. He also served as President of the Piedmont District of the Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA) and spent eight years as a State Board member. He currently serves on the Board of the Old Dominion Highway Contractors Association. 

Beyond his industry involvement, Gupton has remained active in his community. He has served on the Board of the Greater Roanoke Chamber of Commerce and the Roanoke County Schools Educational Foundation. Before moving to Virginia in 2010, he served on his local United Way Board and Parks & Recreation Board and dedicated his time to coaching youth sports and volunteering in youth church activities. 

During his presidency, Gupton will work alongside the VTCA Board of Directors, committees, and staff to continue advancing the Alliance's mission while laying the groundwork for the future. His priorities will include promoting sustainable transportation funding, supporting a strong partnership with the leading state agencies on transportation and aggregate mining: the Virginia Department of Transportation, Department of Environmental Quality, and Department of Energy, and investing in the industry's workforce, and ensuring VTCA remains a valuable resource for members across the Commonwealth. The coming year will also feature a series of special initiatives and a celebration recognizing VTCA's centennial, including reflections on the Alliance's history and opportunities to honor the individuals and companies whose dedication has shaped Virginia's transportation infrastructure over the past century. 

The construction industry has long been a family affair for the Guptons. Eddie and his wife, Missy, have been married for 39 years and reside in Roanoke. Missy worked with AGCVA for 12 years. The couple are the proud parents of two daughters, Abbey and Sadie, and grandparents to three grandchildren, with another due in late September. Abbey is a Regional Project Architect for Advance Auto Parts, and Sadie is a Project Manager 2 for JE Dunn Construction in the company's healthcare division. 

As VTCA embarks on its second century, Gupton's leadership reflects both respect for the Alliance's proud legacy and optimism for the future. The Alliance looks forward to working with him as it celebrates 100 years of service and continues building the roads, bridges, and infrastructure that keep Virginia moving.
