VDOT Names Assistant State Engineer for Alternative Project Delivery

VDOT has announced that Bryan Stevenson has been promoted to Assistant State Engineer for Alternative Project Delivery.

Bryan brings 30 years of experience in transportation and infrastructure projects, specializing in project delivery and policy development. His VDOT experience includes 12 years in the Alternative Project Delivery Division, where he leads the procurement and delivery of complex design-build transportation projects.  He has served as the APD - Project Manager on high-profile design-build projects across the Commonwealth, including I-81 Corridor Improvements (Salem), I-64 Hampton Roads Express Lanes (1A, 1B and IIIA), GRTC Bus Rapid Transit in the City of Richmond and I-66 Inside the Beltway.

Bryan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech, is a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and a DBIA (Design-Build Institute of America) certified Design-Build Professional.

Bryan is also actively involved in industry leadership, serving as Vice President on the DBIA Central Virginia Chapter Board of Directors, Mentor for DHRM Commonwealth Mentoring Program, LEAD Graduate and mentor, ASCE Government Engineers Council, TPMI and ACEC Emerging Leader Program.

Bryan will assume his new role on February 10, 2026.
