On June 29, NSSGA hosted a Senate staff quarry tour at Luck Stone's Bull Run Plant in Chantilly, VA. Nearly 20 Senate staffers joined the tour and learned about NSSGA's priorities for surface reauthorization, permitting and other regulatory issues.

During the tour, staffers observed a blast and gained insight into the wide range of products supported by aggregates. They also heard from partner associations in the construction industry, including the American Cement Association (ACA), National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA), Associated Equipment Distributors (AED), American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and National Home Builders Association (NAHB).

Continued industry engagement with lawmakers and their staff is critical as the current surface transportation authorization bill is set to expire on September 30.
